Hi everyone
I hope you are doing okay during the current lockdown. I don’t know about you, but this is starting to feel all too familiar.
By now you would have heard today’s Victorian government’s announcement to extend the lockdown until 23 September, with the majority of current restrictions remaining in place until 70 per cent of Victorians (aged 16 and older) have received at least one dose of vaccine.
Unfortunately this means that we will be unable to run our event at Phillip Island this month. You have some choices about what you can do with your entry fee.
- Transfer your entry to Winton, 7 November (limited places available) or Sandown, 5 December:
- Log in the MEECAMS entry system
- Enter the event as normal but select one of the activities that says “ENTRY TRANSFERRED FROM PHILLIP ISLAND 12/9”
NOTE: If you have booked a garage for Phillip Island, we will refund you this cost, regardless of which event you transfer your entry to.
- Receive a full refund for this event (see attached instructions)
We are focusing with cautious optimism on our Winton event on 7 November with the hope that more restrictions would have been lifted by then to enable the return of community sport. We understand the important connection that our sport gives us, so we are going to give it a red hot go to put on our remaining events, including our Come & Try Day. Be assured that if we can get trackside, we will. If we don’t know if we can, we’ll keep trying until we can’t.
For many, the fatigue of this extended lockdown is really tough. The isolation, financial and wellbeing impacts are far-reaching. Petrina and I miss the comradery, laughter and friendly competition that being at the track with you creates. The MSCA community is strong and I am hopeful that it won’t be too long before we are able to catch up soon and get back to doing what we love.
In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or if you want to chat about all things motorsport.
Take care and stay well
Kind Regards,
Bruce Astbury
President MSCA
