Become a volunteer

Being part of the MSCA is not just limited to on-track competition.

The strength of our community comes from the generosity of our great volunteers. We’d love to hear from you if you’d like to get involved, and we’ll provide you with the experience you need to grow your experience as a motorsport official.

There are numerous roles that require keen and enthusiast volunteers. These include:

  • Check in and administration

  • Scrutineering

  • Dummy grid

  • Flag marshalling

By becoming a Motorsport Australia Official, you can grow your experience beyond the MSCA’s suite of events - with pathways into national and even international level motorsport.

Drivers also bring great experience as officials, knowing first-hand the importance they bring. It’s a great way to give back to the MSCA community when taking a break from competition, and to support your fellow drivers.

How to get started

    1. Log in/sign up to the Motorsport Australia Member Portal

    2. Head to ‘My Applications’ then + ‘Create New Application’ and select Officials Licence. Click ‘Apply’ and then follow the steps to apply for a General Official

  • Victorian Government legislation requires ALL Victorian Officials to obtain a Working with Children Check as part of their officials licence.

The check is free for Motorsport Australia volunteers/officials, with more information available at the Motorsport Australia website.

    1. Select ’Training’ to access the Motorsport Australia Learning Management System. Select ‘Courses’, then under ‘Officials’ you can self-enrol in the module you wish to complete.

    2. Complete the course and await your licence.

  • Once you have completed your application, and any training if relevant, then you can participate as a Motorsport Australia Official.

There’s plenty of roles available such as flag marshalling, administration, and starting grid. More specialist and advanced roles such as scrutineering are also available.
